Recreation
There are a range of activities for all people and all seasons. Summer activities include swimming and boating in Lake Cle Elum, playing an Arnold Palmer designed championship golf course minutes away, hiking, bike riding and enjoying off-road vehicles. In the winter, there are endless trails for snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.
Pineloch Sun will be creatingtwo area-specific maps for outdoor activities. Check back soon to download the Summer Activities Map and the Winter Activities Map for ideas and information.
Lake Cle Elum and the Cle Elum River
Pineloch Sun’s lodge is set on the Lake Cle Elum beach and many member properties have an amazing lake view. The lake levels vary due to an irrigation system established at the Lake Cle Elum Dam. It is open for boaters, jet skiers, rafters and swimmers. The closest beach access for cars is Speelyi Beach, which is just down the road from the lodge. The nearest boat launch is at Wish Poosh Campground. For information on Wish Poosh, select this link.
Highway 903 travels north along the lake. The Cle Elum River feeds the lake at its north end. Many people camp at established areas on the river, or float down in rafts. For an area map, click here.

Golf
The newest and most popular golf area is at Suncadia. The resort has one public course (Prospector), a private course (Tumble Creek) and a third course (Rope Rider) that will open Fall 2010. Through Suncadia’s golf website, you can view an interactive course map and register a tee time.
There is also a public, 18- hole golf course in Cle Elum called Sun Country. Rate information and course maps can be found on the Sun Country Website. It is located at 841 Saint Andrews Drive and can be contacted via phone at 509-674-2226.
Winter Activities
Pineloch Sun will soon be creating a Winter Activities Map, which will be downloadable here. It will list snowmobile trails, areas for snowshoeing and cross country skiing, and Sno-Parks.
There are many unmarked places to go snowshoeing and cross country skiing in Pineloch Sun’s backyard. For a maintained trail, you can go just up the road to Salmon la Sac Campground or a few trails on Highway 903 that are on the way there. A Sno-Park permit is required for the 70 parking stalls at Salmon la Sac, but there is a three mile, groomed loop restricted to non-motorized use and perfect for kids and parents. No permit is required at French Cabin Creek. For additional trail information, visit the USFS website for local winter activities.
More detailed snowmobiling information will be available in the winter. Check back for maps and trail recommendations.
